This renovation project was completed in the fall of 2004 and is located in upstate New York in the town of Canaan.  The 3,500 square foot structure was originally built in the 70’s and functioned first as a daycare center and later converted into a medical clinic.   A series of small exam rooms, bathrooms, and an x-ray room were reconfigured to function as a part-time residence and painting studio for a New York City based artist.  Instead of completely gutting and re-building the interior, an economical process of selective demolition helped to create a 2 bedroom, 3 bath residence with an office space, ample painting storage area and a large studio which doubles as a gallery.
